FAQ’S About Our Service
What is it like at Community Church of the Open Door?
How many attend Open Door? God conti
nues to pour out His blessings on Open Door and one of the greatest of those blessings is people! There are over 190 people attending our Small Groups each week and over 240 in weekend Worship Services.
What are services like? When you arrive on Sunday morning, there are greeters to help you find your way. There is nursery available for ages up to 3 years, and Children’s Church is available before the pastor’s message, for ages 4 through first grade. The worship time is a mix of contemporary worship & praise music interspersed with hymns. An offering is taken midway through the service. We welcome visitors to let the offering basket pass and just enjoy worshiping with us.
Do I need to dress up to fit in at Open Door?
Open Door has a “come as you are” atmosphere. You will see some people dressed up and some dressed very casually. We have no expectations for attire.
How do I know which Small Group to attend?
Growing, or getting to know Open Door members and building genuine friendships, is a vital part of who we are as a church. Small Groups are a great way to achieve that. You can search for a Small Group on our “Intentional” page. There are many small groups throughout the area and probably one close to you! If you would like us to help you find a group to grow with, go to our Contact page and write us.
What is your pastor like?
Pastor Mark Fowler is energetic and funny. His leadership provides direction, vision, and wisdom to our church. He’s a former missionary and businessman and plays racquetball regularly. He also enjoys movies, reading, and spending time with his family. Check out one of his current messages on our Media page or get to know him a little more on his blog.
What happens in case of snow or extreme weather conditions?
We will try to get a notice up on our home page but, if you don’t see anything, check the local television and radio news regarding any schedule changes or closings.
